Harrisburg Stampede(SIFL)

The Harrisburg Stampede moved to the SIFL from the defunct AIFA for 2011. The Stampede did not improve on their AIFA days and would be blown out in many of their games. Former af2 veteran Kelvin Robinson quarterbacked the team for part of they year, accumulating 345 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. Brian Harris and Andre Coles combined for 19 touchdowns and 23 picks. Collis Martin was by far the team’s leading receiver, amassing 819 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Stampede was penalized 118 times for 750 yards and allowed 37 sacks. The offense only scored touchdowns half of the time in the red zone, while allowing opponents to score six 71% of the time. The team’s biggest shining moment was their fourth quarter at home against division winning Erie. The Stampede trailed 40-16 10:23 left and stormed back to win 41-40, as Richard Johnson threw a 30 yard touchdown to Collis martin with 53 seconds left on the clock. The comeback included two rouges by all-star indoor football kicker J.R. Cipra.
