Greensboro Revolution(NIFL)

The Greensboro Revolution was one of the few 2006 expansion teams that didn’t have as many off the field issues. The Revolution was just a lousy team on the field. The tone for the season was set on openning night, when they were shutout by Osceola, 44-0. The team rebounded against the Palm Beach Phantoms in their first home game, in front of a reported 8,012 fans. However, that was just a report that turned out to be untrue. Tony Pewonski was the owner of this team and he was also involved in the Dayton Warbirds fiasco last year. Despite several rumors throughout the year that the team would fold, the Revolution played all of its games. The team lost a few close games to Montgomery, but on the whole was never competitive with the top teams in the league. The team resurfaced in 2007 and posted a 7-3 record. The team was forced to cancel several games because several league-owned expansion franchises folded early in the season.
