Ohio Valley Greyhounds(NIFL)

The Ohio Valley Greyhounds are, by far, the most successful NIFL franchise in league history. The Greyhounds have two Championships and never had a losing season. In 2001, the team posted an 11-3 regular season effort. In the playoffs, the Greyhounds defeated the 11-3 Lake Charles Landsharks, 52-9 and then were defeated by the Mississippi Fire Dogs. In 2002, the team went 12-1, their only loss coming to Tennessee by 21 points. The Greyhounds defeated Louisiana, took revenge on Tennessee, and beat Billings to take their first of two Indoor Bowl victories. The next year, the Greyhounds repeated with the first undefeated year (regular and postseason) in NIFL history. En route to their second Indoor Bowl victory, Ohio Valley defeated Lexington, Lake Charles, and finally, Utah. In 2004, the team continued its success. The Greyhounds again finished at 11-3. Their three losses were all on the road and came by a combined fourteen points to Atlantic City, Lake Charles, and Fort Wayne. In the postseason, Ohio Valley defeated Fort Wayne by a point before losing to Lexington. The team jumped ship following the 2004 season to join the UIF. The franchise folded following one year in their new league.
