Kansas Koyotes(CPFL)

The Kansas Koyotes joined the CPIFL after several years in the APFL (not covered on this site due to lack of historical information). The Koyotes were six time champions of that league, but went 1-11 in their first CPIFL season. The lone victory came against Mid-Missouri, a former APFL opponent. The Koyotes were outscored by an average of 50-24. Quarterbacks combined to throw 25 interceptions to just 15 touchdowns. James Walker led all rushers with 412 yards and 16 touchdowns. The team didn’t improve in 2014. The Koyotes were outscored by an average of 56-30. Carlos Cavanaugh and Stanley Jennings split time at quarterback, combining to throw for 1,668 yards, 33 touchdowns and 20 picks. Chris Davis was the only receiver to catch more than four touchdowns, as he hauled in 17 on 42 grabs for 505 yards. Jennings accounted for seven of the team’s fourteen rushing scores. Opponents scored 37 times on the ground. Opponents also converted 11/15 fourth downs. The lone win of the year came against Oklahoma, as Kansas’ offense finally came alive in a 75-63 win. The win also snapped a 22 game losing streak.
