The Monterrey Steel marked the first time a professional indoor football league had a regular competitor from Mexico. The Steel made their living, though, beating up on fledgling league teams like Corpus Christi and Georgia. They did pull off a 44-37 victory at Jacksonville in the final regular season week, but would fall in the playoffs at Jacksonville the next week 43-32.
