The Louisiana Rangers replaced the Bayou Beast in 2000. The Rangers began the year at 5-1, but their inability to win on the road cost them a chance at the postseason. Like the Bayou Beast, the Rangers jumped to the NIFL after the 2000 season, and survived until 2004. The franchise then moved to Beaumont.
