New Mexico Wildcats(AIFA)

The New Mexico Wildcats were a quickly erected AIFA team for the West division. The team was usually blown out of games, but won three of their final five, including a double overtime victory at home against Wyoming. The team survived into 2009, winning its season opener at Ogden. However, this would be the only win of the season for the Wildcats, who were outscored by an average of 56-32. The offense was never really able to produce. B.J. Hall spent the most time at quarterback, passing for 41 touchdowns and 8 picks, while Gabe Hatchett and C.J. Davis combined to catch 26 of the touchdowns. On the rushing front, the Wildcats put up 267 yards and 16 touchdowns to their opponents’ 740 yards and 37 touchdowns. While opponents converted half of their third down conversions and 53% of fourth down conversions, the Wildcats converted 28% and 26% respectively. The Wildcats finished last in the West division.
