The Ohio Valley Greyhounds left four years of success in the NIFL to join the UIF. As a result, the team suffered its first losing season, going 6-9 and losing several close games. In addition to their onfield struggles, the team had several off the field problems. Only a handul of the team’s roster and coaches boarded the bus to their playoff game against Sioux City. The team lost, 52-17. Following the season, it seemed almost certain that this franchise, rich with success, would fold. The team was auctioned on eBay and was actually purchased. Under new ownership, the Greyhounds barely missed the playoffs in their second season with the UIF. However, the team fell apart down the stretch, losing their last four, including back to back two point losses to Evansville and Fort Wayne. The Greyhounds actually led the league in passing yards and were second in passing touchdowns. Matthew Kohn passed for over 3,000 yards, 57 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. The Greyhounds missed the playoffs due to a tiebreaker with Sioux City. The team fell apart again in 2007, winning just two games. This time, the Greyhounds passed for just 39 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, as they were frequently blown out. Following the 2007 season, the once great franchise finally folded.
