The Mobile Bay Tarpons was an SIFL expansion team that didn't last half a season. The team's home opener was played against replaceemnt players, as the Lafayette Wildcatters folded before the season began. The 55-6 home victory helped, along with the following week's ten point home victory over Abilene. The team played three road games, getting outscored 238-85. The Tarpons were also credited with a 94-0 loss in Alabama in mid-May, about one month after the team folded.
