The Harrisburg Stampede joined the PIFL after leaving the AIF. The team acquired indoor football veteran E.J. Nemeth, who threw for 2,651 yards, 45 touchdowns and 21 interceptions. He led all rushers with 19 scores and 328 net yards. Collis Martin and Jerrell Jones combined to catch 26 touchdowns and 1,304 yards. The Stampede's new league offered new challenges. After an opening week win against Columbus, the Stampede began to stumble, ending the regular season at 4-8. Blown leads and close losses became the story of the year. Trenton defeated Harrisburg 52-39 by outscoring the Stampede 28-7 in the fourth quarter. Four more losses came by nine points or less. Nashville outscored Harrisburg 21-7 in the fourth quarter to take a 40-31 victory. Harrisburg did not qualify for the post season.
