The Erie Explosion joined the PIFL in 2015 and it ended up as the franchise's worst season to that point. Mason Esponosa quarterbacked the Explosion for most of the season, passing for 1,808 yards, 31 touchdowns and 15 picks. Alfonso Haggard led all receivers with 17 scores and 1,012 yards. Moe Williams caught 12 touchdowns. The team put together two victories, with one coming against the AIF's ASI Panthers. The other came in a surprise win against Alabama, 55-52. However, the team was outscored by an average of 24 points per game, and an 88-7 loss in the final week at Richmond didn't help this average.
