The Sioux Falls Cobras started off as a very successful team. They won five of their first six, but ended up missing the playoffs due to some close losses. The other playoff spot in the Cobras' division went to the rival Sioux City Attack. When the IFL was sold, both teams moved to the NIFL and then the UIF.
