The Rapid City Marshals were a 2022 CIF expansion team. The team went 2-8 in the regular season and missed the playoffs. The team suffered from little consistency at any position. Bobby Froehlich was the only quarterback to throw more than 100 passes for the team(109) and he passed for 482 yards and ten touchdowns. There were no 100 yard rushers. Zee Roberson led wide receivers with five touchdowns and 255 yards. The team won its inaugural home game against Topeka, 47-25 and held on for a 56-55 home victory against Wyoming. However, none of their other games were competitive, with the season ending on a very low note: a 77-7 loss to Sioux City. The team returned in 2023 to much the same as it had experienced the previous season. The Marshals went winless, losing by an average of 33 points per game. The longest time at quarterback was spent by Jauhem Byrd-Mix, who passed for 415 yards, nine scores and twelve picks. He also led all rushers with 351 net yards and seven touchdowns. Kevin Chism led all receivers with 304 yards and six touchdowns. The closest chance at a victory came in their next to last game of the season with a 41-38 loss to Southwest Kansas.
