The Syracuse Soldiers were originally planned to begin play in 2007. However, following the preseason folding of the Binghamton Brigadiers, the Soldiers were quickly assembled to be the sixteenth team in the AIFL. On the field, Syracuse was dismal. The Soldiers managed one victory on the year, at winless Steubenville. Most losses came by more than twenty points. With four games remaining on their schedule, the team ceased operations due to financial difficulties with the team and league. Two semipro teams, the Cumberland Valley Cardinals and Philadelphia Scorpions finished the Soldiers' road schedule.
