The Richmond Bandits cruised to a 9-1 regular season record in their first year. The lone loss came at Erie. These two teams played again in the AIFL Championship game, where the Bandits dominated, 56-30. In the 2006 season, the Bandits were still very dominant. However, after earning the #1 seed in the Southern Conference, the team left the league due to some issues with the league office. The Bandits forfeited their home playoff game against Raleigh.
