The Baltimore Blackbirds originally planned on participating in the Eastern Indoor Football League. When this league failed miserably, the team was accepted into the AIFA. The team would have a limited home schedule. The team began play in week 6 of the regular season, losing at Reading by 72. The team struggled mightily in most games, but was able to stay close with Carolina and Johnstown. The team's lone victory came against the Gulf Coast Raiders, another team that played just three games in the league. The team folded after the 2007 season and was replaced by the Baltimore Mariners.
