The St. Louis Stampede became division champions in just their first year. Finishing 9-3, the Stampede qualified for a home playoff berth. For the second week in a row, Albany would travel to Missouri. The previous week, the Stampede won, 52-49. In the playoffs, Albany returned the favor, 51-49 to end the Stampede’s fabulous season. The Stampede qualified for the playoffs in their second and final season, too. This time, Iowa would stop the Stampede, 52-49. St. Louis folded after the 1996 season.
