Colorado jumped out to a 13-0 lead on rushing touchdowns by Cory Spence and Darnell Brooks. After Utah scored with 4:19 left in the first half, Colorado struck again when quarterback Jason Torres scored on a 1 yard run to make the score 20-6 at half-time.

The Catzz were already without quarterback Paul Shoemaker who was banged up in the first half and he too did not return. Nonetheless, Utah rallied on two touchdown passes from Borich to Terrence Keehan to cut the deficit to 29-27.
The Wildcats' special teams and defense were the catalysts for the victory. In the first quarter, Colorado's defense stopped Utah on the Wildcat two yard line and Jesse Tann made an interception in the end zone on another Utah scoring attempt. With 35 seconds remaining in the first half, Antonio Sparrow intercepted a Utah pass and ran it back to the Utah 2 yard line. With Utah looking to win the game on a last play field goal attempt, the Wildcats' Damon Jackson came around the end and blocked the kick to preserve the victory.
Colorado's next game is on Saturday, May 9, versus the Louisiana Bayou Beast. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Denver Coliseum.
